Flipping the Flipped Classroom? Challenges and possibilities of the flipped classroom within a heterogenous student class context

A flipped classroom (FC) approach offers several benefits to teaching and learning, both on campus and online. However, in heterogenous student groups, a variety of factors may challenge students’ engagement with preparatory materials and thus their ability to profit from the approach. This seminar will present an ongoing pedagogical project within the Department of Sociology and Work Science at GU that aims to retain the profits from the flipped classroom approach while also addressing some of its potential challenges.
