Academic Dishonesty and Generative AI

Generative AI (genAI) has disrupted how teachers understand, identify, and discuss academic (dis)honesty with students. As its use becomes increasingly widespread among students at GU, many teachers are grappling with questions such as: Is it considered academic dishonesty when students use generative AI to complete coursework? If so, how can teachers identify and report such cases?

This seminar supports teachers in addressing these questions through information and discussion. Specifically, the seminar provides an overview of how the University handles suspected cases of ”unauthorized use of genAI” and provides strategies for communicating with students about potentially dishonest uses of genAI in the context of their coursework.
